Co-presented  by Chicago Dance Crash and Bread & Roses productions, “Duets” is a passionate, exciting evening of romantic (or anti-romantic) dance brought to you by Chicago’s finest companies, crews, and couples. Established in 1998 by show founder Bob Barrett, “Duets” provides a wide array of crowd-pleasing forms… presenting the city’s hottest concert, social, and street dance styles in a fun, romantic setting.

This is a cocktail formal event so dress up, sip a glass of wine and enjoy the return of your “Duets” host…Mattrick Swayze!Returning to its home at the Athenaeum Theatre, this year’s installment will feature Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Kate Corby and Dancers, Culture Shock Chicago, Be the Groove, Ron De Jesus Dance, Jaxon Movement Arts, Chicago Tap Theatre, choreography by Katie Graves & Matt McMunn, Marc Macaranas, Brian Carey Chung, James Morrow, and Mei-Kuang Chen!

“Hope Through Dance” is a festival bringing together performance companies and dancers in honor of Laura Maceika. The goal of this event is to use dance to deepen audiences’ understanding of the artist’s experience, to provide an outlet for dancers to enrich their lives and further their careers, and finally to support the Laura Twirls Foundation, an organization set-up to honor young dancers with scholarships and to provide financial support to mental health facilities focused on assisting survivors of suicide.Be the Groove will perform on Saturday, September 8.

Chicago Human Rhythm Project’s 20th Anniversary Season concludes with JUBALEE!, a premier gala benefit supporting performance and education, this October 25 in Chicago. On this extraordinary evening, Chicago and international tap and percussive dance stars will heat up the stage with thrilling performances!

The evening begins with a cocktail reception followed by performances by CHRP’s performing ensemble, BAM! alongside other tap and percussive arts stars from Chicago and beyond. The evening will conclude with a light dinner and dessert buffet and silent auction where guests can meet the evening’s performers and honorees.
