The indefinable, often quirky, always tall Josh Weckesser is at it again with what is fast becoming an annual event on par with Lollapalooza, only for dance: The Josh Weckesser Dance Spectacular. As a professional Lighting Designer for Dance, Josh has pulled from his vast network of friends, clients, and people he’s met on the street to create an event that can only be described as “Spectacular.” The Third Annual Josh Weckesser Dance Spectacular, subtitled LIVE NUDE ART!, features works by Masha Balovlenkov, Be The Groove, Brandy Cherello, Paul Christiano, Corpo Dance Company, Lindsey Marks, Katie Matteson, Brad Norris, Synapse Arts Collective, Sarah Winkler, and of course Josh Weckesser.

Be the Groove brings its unique blend of percussion and dance to the Loop for an exciting outdoor performance. Featuring fierce drumming, intense body percussion, and explosive hip-hop dance, Be the Groove will infuse downtown Chicago with its trademark rhythm and energy. At 8 pm, as the dusk-to-dawn celebration of Chicago artistry picks up, the group will use everything from trashcans to their own bodies to celebrate rhythm in a free concert at the Federal Plaza.
